Laugh Nation believes that each child is unique and has individual needs to be met;
therefore, this center features a nurturing environment in which each child has
an opportunity to play, explore, and get along with others in order to maximize
their physical, social, emotional, and intellectual learning. Large rooms with lots
of educational activities at children’s level and an equipped playground present
a great learning opportunity to satisfy children’s sense of curiosity.
We value imagination and creative play through open-ended explorations. This process has been found to have a significant impact on the development of self-esteem and self-worth. For example, we appreciate the process more than the product when children create art work, plant a seed, and/or play an instrument.
Parent participation is a fundamental part of our program and we encourage parents to be involved with their children's work at the center. In addition, we respect cultural diversity and we encourage families from different ethnic backgrounds to demonstrate their cultural practices. By sharing cultural celebrations such as food, dancing and clothing, we give children an opportunity to be grateful for theirs and others' uniqueness.
We emphasize happiness, smiley faces, and lots of laughs; after all we are Laugh
Nation and we and children want to use laughs to solve the conflicts, to recover
from failures, and to make learning fun.
